Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before the event.
Is the event really free?
Yes, participation in the Konekte pou Bati Fair is entirely free, from registration through the end of the day.
How will I get the link to join on the day?
The connection link will be emailed to registered participants in the days before the event. Check your spam folder if you don't receive it. The event will also be streamed live on our partners’ social media accounts and on youtube.com/altemajm.
Do I need a good internet connection?
The event is designed to work even with a modest connection. If your connection is unstable, prioritize audio and lower the video quality if your platform allows it.
Can I take part from a phone?
Yes, the site and the event broadcast are accessible from a smartphone.
What exactly is Rezo Konekte?
Rezo Konekte is the Konekte pou Bati mentorship program. Professionals in Haiti and the diaspora support young people beyond the fair in clarifying their goals and developing their skills.
How do I post a job or internship on the Wall of Opportunities?
Go to the "Wall of Opportunities" page and click "Post an opportunity." Each listing is reviewed by the organizing team before it's published.
I'm a diaspora professional — how can I contribute?
Several ways: become a speaker for a session, become a mentor in Rezo Konekte, post a job opening, or propose a partnership for your organization.

What is Konekte pou Bati?
Konekte pou Bati helps Haitian youth discover future careers, build professional pathways and connect with expertise in Haiti and the diaspora. It starts with the November 14, 2026 fair and continues through mentorship, resources and opportunities.
Who can become a mentor?
A professional in Haiti or the diaspora with relevant experience in one of the four focus areas can apply: entrepreneurs, technicians, tradespeople, employees, researchers, teachers and independent professionals. Applicants should be ready to share their experience and provide respectful, attentive and consistent support. The team reviews applications before approval.
What does a mentor do?
A mentor helps a young person understand a career, clarify goals and identify practical steps forward. They share experience and suggest options. Mentorship is not a promise of employment.
How do mentors and young people communicate?
Once their match is approved and they agree to share contact details, they choose their channel: WhatsApp, phone, email, Slack or video calls. They agree on how often to connect, taking internet access into account.
Who can become a partner?
Businesses, schools, universities, training centers, chambers of commerce, associations, diaspora organizations, local governments, public institutions, media and cooperation organizations can propose a partnership.
Will the fair be streamed on social media?
Yes. The fair will be broadcast live on our partners’ social media accounts and on youtube.com/altemajm, the Haiti Tech Connect Podcast channel. Links will be shared closer to the event. Registered participants will also receive connection details by email.
Does the project end after the fair?
No. The fair launches Konekte pou Bati. Rezo Konekte, the Opportunities Wall and resources are intended to sustain connections and support participants beyond the event.
